01About this project
This project will rehabilitate the bridge on 112 Avenue over Wayne Gretzky Drive (B139).The proposed scope of work includes the replacement and repair of deteriorated bridge elements to extend the service life of the bridge. It also includes the incorporation of a shared pathway. Update: Construction is underway to extend the bridge's lifespan, the south half of the bridge is closed until the end of October 2026, reducing 112 Avenue traffic to one through lane and one turning lane in both directions. Ramps and pedestrian access across Wayne Gretzy Drive remain open. The bridge will fully reopen to all traffic lanes and pedestrian corridors during the winter. The south half of the bridge is expected to finish by fall 2026, with the north half scheduled for completion in 2027. Overall project completion by the end of 2027.

02How to get on the bid list
Big projects are not usually tendered trade by trade in public. The owner hires a general contractor or construction manager, who then prequalifies trades and sends out packages. Getting on that list early is how you get the call.
- Find out who the general contractor or construction manager is.
- Prequalify on their trade-partner portal (insurance, safety record, references).
- Ask when the packages for your trade go out, and to be on the invite list.
