01About this project
This project will replace the ice plant equipment at the Bill Hunter and Michael Cameron arenas with new equipment that meets current federal environmental standards. Currently, the ice plants share space with the ice resurfacers and other operational tools in these arenas. As part of this project, the ice plant rooms will be separated from the resurfacer rooms to ensure the safety of operations and maintenance staff. Update: The Bill Hunter Halocarbon Ice Plant Upgrade is 90% complete Construction. The project continues to progress with the overall project targeting completion by the end of Q3 of 2026.

02How to get on the bid list
Big projects are not usually tendered trade by trade in public. The owner hires a general contractor or construction manager, who then prequalifies trades and sends out packages. Getting on that list early is how you get the call.
- Find out who the general contractor or construction manager is.
- Prequalify on their trade-partner portal (insurance, safety record, references).
- Ask when the packages for your trade go out, and to be on the invite list.
