01About this project
The Ontario government is investing up to $14.78 million dollars to support in the renovation, expansion, and building of new education facilities for the Collaborative Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at Lakehead University and the University of Guelph. This new 4 year program aims to address veterinary shortages in rural, northern and Indigenous communities, making it easier for farmers and large animal owners to access veterinary care when and where they need it. University of Guelph will undertake the expansion and upgrade of the Medical Surgical Learning Centre used to teach surgical skills at the University of Guelph campus in Guelph, Ontario for the new Collaborative Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. The expansion and facilities upgrades are to accommodate an increased number of students (an additional 20 seats per cohort).

02How to get on the bid list
Big projects are not usually tendered trade by trade in public. The owner hires a general contractor or construction manager, who then prequalifies trades and sends out packages. Getting on that list early is how you get the call.
- Find out who the general contractor or construction manager is.
- Prequalify on their trade-partner portal (insurance, safety record, references).
- Ask when the packages for your trade go out, and to be on the invite list.
