01About this project
Development of a mixed-use community that will replace George Pearson Centre and the Dogwood Lodge located on Cambie St between 57 and 59 Ave. Mixed housing is proposed for the 25 acre site; including assisted living, affordable and market units, as well as health care and commercial space. In February 2015, VCHA has selected Onni Group as development partner for the redevelopment. Onni Group has purchased two parcels of land totalling 22.18 acres. VCHA will retain a 3.2 acre parcel which will be developed for health care and community uses. All proceeds generated from the sale of the Pearson Dogwood lands will remain with VCHA for re-investment into health care infrastructure, including on the site to replace existing outdated buildings. The first phase will have 22 and 26 storey towers with 307 market units and 138 social housing units. Retail space will be located at ground level. The 6-storey, 150-bed Dogwood Lodge Replacement will be developed by the Lark Group Pearson Homes is under development by Onni Group.

02How to get on the bid list
Big projects are not usually tendered trade by trade in public. The owner hires a general contractor or construction manager, who then prequalifies trades and sends out packages. Getting on that list early is how you get the call.
- Find out who the general contractor or construction manager is.
- Prequalify on their trade-partner portal (insurance, safety record, references).
- Ask when the packages for your trade go out, and to be on the invite list.
