01About this project
Transit priority measures are traffic management tools that give public transit priority over other vehicle traffic. These measures improve the speed and reliability of transit service by reducing the delays. This project includes both a planning and design stage, and an implementation stage. The planning and design stage reviews the current state of the road and traffic signals operation to identify opportunities for potential areas of improvement, followed by the implementation of feasible measures. This work will include stakeholder communication and seek to balance costs, benefits and available budget to confirm locations for improvements. Update: Transit priority measures on 101 Street are planned for implementation in late August/early September. Transit priority measures on Whyte Avenue have been deferred to 2027. Location: Jasper Avenue (95 St to 109 St); 101 Street (Kingsway to Jasper Avenue); 97 Avenue (105 St and 109 St)

02How to get on the bid list
Big projects are not usually tendered trade by trade in public. The owner hires a general contractor or construction manager, who then prequalifies trades and sends out packages. Getting on that list early is how you get the call.
- Find out who the general contractor or construction manager is.
- Prequalify on their trade-partner portal (insurance, safety record, references).
- Ask when the packages for your trade go out, and to be on the invite list.
