The Project includes an expansion component and renovation component.Expansion Component:The expansion component of the Project includes the construction of a new one-storey, 14590 sq. ft. building with the following key spaces:• Training offices;• Training auditorium;• High density file storage system;• Training meeting room;• Washrooms;• Kitchen and canteen; and• Lunchroom.Renovation Component:The renovation component of the Project includes renovations to approximately 9,942 sq. ft. of the existing building.The renovation component includes renovations to the following key spaces comprising 2,442 sq. ft.:• Classrooms;• Universal washrooms;• Mechanical/electrical room;• Vestibule; and• Corridor.The renovation component also includes floor refinishing over 7,500 sq. ft. of the existing building. 02How to get on the bid list
Big projects are not usually tendered trade by trade in public. The owner hires a general contractor or construction manager, who then prequalifies trades and sends out packages. Getting on that list early is how you get the call.
- Find out who the general contractor or construction manager is.
- Prequalify on their trade-partner portal (insurance, safety record, references).
- Ask when the packages for your trade go out, and to be on the invite list.
