01About this project
Since it began operations in 1968, the Westwood Central Service Yard has had modest upgrades and additions. A 2022 facility condition assessment found various structural, mechanical and electrical components that reached the end of their life cycles, providing a rehabilitation opportunity for an improved and more efficient facility. The project involves the planning, design and construction for the renewal of various facility systems. Update: The Construction Phase of the Westwood Rehabilitation Project renovation is 70% complete. The project is proceeding on schedule and on budget, with an in-service date of Q4 2026.

02How to get on the bid list
Big projects are not usually tendered trade by trade in public. The owner hires a general contractor or construction manager, who then prequalifies trades and sends out packages. Getting on that list early is how you get the call.
- Find out who the general contractor or construction manager is.
- Prequalify on their trade-partner portal (insurance, safety record, references).
- Ask when the packages for your trade go out, and to be on the invite list.
